I am a firm believer that you have to believe in yourself before you can believe in anyone else. So it didn't seem appropriate to make a blog about all the women I admire in my life if I didn't include myself. I was born on December 3rd, 1998 in State College, PA. I have been playing basketball since I was five years old and my dad has been my coach for the majority of my career. Playing basketball gave me so much more than athletic skills, it gave me a sense of belonging and a sense of being. Looking back on my junior year, I was selected as one of 3 captains. This caused some controversy because there were over 6 seniors on the team and my coach only chose 2 seniors as captains, and me. This gave me my chance to be a leader and I really grew into that position my senior year.

I've always been a bargin shopper which is why I started working at American Eagle over three years ago. The 80% employee discount really comes in handy! But other than saving money, working in retail taught me a lot about how to deal with unruly people and how to change situations for the better. I love working at AE because of the support system it gave me. My coworkers are some of my best friends and I know i'll always have something to come back to if I ever need a job in my life.

Lastly, I'm a student at Penn State. I'm majoring in Economics and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in political science. I'm not quite sure where I want to go in life with this just yet, but I'm looking at some internships at ESPN and The Ellen Show, so keep your eyes out for me!

To end this, in no way am I saying that you have to look up to me, but I am saying you should look up to yourself. If you're not bettering yourself then you're just floating through your life on cruise control.
