Zendaya Coleman

Zendaya was born on September 1, 1996 in Oakland, California. She began her career as a child model and backup dancer. Zendaya then landed a role on the Disney Channel show, Shake It Up where she played Rocky Blue. After Shake It Up was cancelled, Zendaya starred in a few movies and ultimately landed another role with Disney Channel on the new show, K.C. Undercover.

During the 87th Academy Awards, Zendaya wore a beautiful white gown and long, gorgeous locs. Giuliana Rancic decided to make the comment that Zendaya's hair might smell like patchouli oil and weed. Zendaya took to Instagram to point out that may successful people have locs and that a hairstyle should not have anything to with drugs. Mattel recognized Zendaya's maturity and decided to honor her with her own Barbie, that replicated her Oscars look.

I follow Zendaya on pretty much every social media platform and I see how often she stands up for different groups around the world. She is a self-proclaimed feminist and I believe she truly embodies the idea to use her platform for good. Zendaya is only a few years older than me but I still look up her her a lot and I believe that she will become someone millions of young girls will look up to in their lifetime
